The Tai Chi Stick is a short weapon, about 1.2 meters long, that’s made of wood – it’s convenient to use and easy to carry. The Tai Chi Stick form is a weapons form created by Sifu Amin Wu that combines the fundamental characteristics of Tai Chi with traditional martial arts stick forms. The form consists of 18 movements divided into two distinct parts.
In the first part of the form, the movements are expansive and controlled with steps that are light and nimble, circular motions executed with a balance of Yin and Yang unify the body and the weapon. In the second part of the form, the movements are more linear and agile with the mind’s intention guiding the weapon, balancing its momentum with the movement of the body.
In addition to the form, Sifu Wu will also demonstrate and teach applications of the Tai Chi Stick for self-defense.
